A Memorable Wedding Day at St. Mary and All Saints Church
This is indeed a beautiful church steeped in history, and over the past 20 years, we have had the privilege of being a part of many couples’ weddings with our wedding cars. One recent memory that comes to mind is a particular bride who was an hour and a half late. This delay was attributed to her hairdresser and makeup artist being tardy, compounded by the snow-covered roads from Sutton in Ashfield to the crooked spire.
We arrived ahead of schedule but had to maintain communication with the vicar regarding our progress, as the bell ringers and choir were poised to depart. Despite the initial hiccup, everything eventually fell into place. The bride and bridesmaids, clad in their makeshift pajamas, had to make do as the wedding dress had yet to arrive. My colleague, Chris, liaised with the company on Chatsworth Road in Chesterfield, and fortunately, the dresses were delivered to the church. The bride and bridesmaids hastily prepared in a room on-site.
